Finishing & Binding

Finishing Services:

  • trimming

  • scoring

  • folding

  • binding (see options below)

  • corner-rounding

In-House Binding Options:

  • sewn or stapled (one signature/ pamphlet, up to 60 pages)

  • plastic coil or twin-loop wire (up to 120 pages)

  • custom hand bindings

For projects that incorporate any other print or bind methods (digital, offset, silkscreen, letterpress, perfect binding, smyth sewn binding, hardback), we have relationships with several local production shops.

We love working with companies that have good customer service, prioritize craft, and are local to Cincinnati, or the larger Midwestern region. Getting creative to source materials and services locally is part of what makes our books unique and supportive of our local economy.

Publishing

We are open to publication submissions or proposals by email on a rolling basis. We are currently seeking manuscripts (poetry, essays, or creative writing), as well as art book proposals (photography, illustration, mixed media) for release in 2026-27. Please send manuscripts or book proposals to hello@cerealbox.studio and we would be happy to consider your work for publication. Our publishing contracts usually cover 100% editing and production costs, and offer something in the range of 10-25% royalties.

Even if we choose not to cover 100% production costs, we are open to alternative agreement terms if you are seeking financial support to help fund production or distribution of your project. When we print or publish work, the artist or author always retains 100% rights and we don’t ever require exclusivity.
